The DS8288-HC combines Zebra’s 2 MP imaging technology with a disinfectant-ready housing, sealed trigger, antimicrobial labels, contactless charging, and patient-friendly feedback. Bluetooth mobility and long-running or fast-charging power options allow healthcare organizations to configure the scanner around bedside, pharmacy, laboratory, admissions, and workstation-on-wheels requirements.
The DS8288-HC uses a 1600 × 1200-pixel sensor, Zebra PRZM Intelligent Imaging, and high-density focus to capture barcodes across the care journey. It supports common 1D and 2D codes as well as OCR, GS1 Digital Link, Digimarc, and SecurPharm data.
Minimum resolution reaches 3 mil for Code 39 and Code 128 and 5 mil for Data Matrix and QR Code. A 13 mil UPC code has a published range of approximately 0.3 to 22.2 inches, while 20 mil Data Matrix codes can be captured from contact to approximately 17.5 inches.
UDI Scan+ can parse supported medical-device identification fields, and Blood Bag Parse+ can capture and format multiple blood-bag data elements.
